Camping and stuff
This will just be a short post as I'm working tomorrow so need to try and get an early night (hopefully I'll be able to sleep).
I've just been camping in Croyde (north Devon). I just went for one night but had great fun. I went with my friend Caroline and her boyfriend. They've stayed on but I had to come back for work.
We arrived yesterday afternoon. It rained all the way there but was dry and sunny there so we managed to get our tents up in the dry. The receptionist ummed and ahhed for ages before eventually finding us two plots adjacent to each other, so we expected the camping field to be full up. We were the only people in it.
Having set up camp, we wnt to the beach went surfing! It was my first time and I was rubbish. Could hardly balance on the board lying down, let alone stand up. But it was good fun. I also did a bit of bodyboarding which was much easier and also extremelly fun. We had left our clothes on the beach and the tide had come rushing in, we only just managed to rescue them before they were washed away!
The rain begun as we were trying to change. It continued all night. Rain, wind and sea, howling around the tent. It was so snug and warm inside though. I slept so well. I only woke up once, and panicked, thinking that my tent was flooded, but then realised that I'd just been dribbling so went straight back to sleep.
Today, we spent the day at Lynmouth, which was very pleasant, and then I headed home.
I'm now shattered and shouldn't have any problems getting to sleep tonight. I've also managed to get sunburnt on my face!
